Port crackdown on illegal waste

The Environment Agency in Wales says it is becoming increasingly concerned by shipments of illegal waste.
It follows a four-day crackdown at Holyhead port, Anglesey, when 67 trailers and lorries were inspected by agency and customs officers.

The agency said it was carrying out further investigations after the drive against illegal imports and exports.

It was the first in a number of regular inspections to be carried out at the port and others in Wales and England.
