Taiwanese shipbuilder delays containership deliveries

Taiwan’s largest shipbuilder, CSBC, has agreed to delay delivery of 14 containerships to All Oceans Transportation, a unit of shipowner Yang Ming Marine. Among the newbuildings, five 8,240TEU ships have had their delivery dates postponed 15 months on average. A further four 6,600TEU vessels have been postponed by six months. It said all the ships will be delivered between 2011 and 2012 rather than 2010 to 2011.
