Shipping firm in new first

A Danish shipping firm is to become the first non-Russian enterprise to sail through the North East Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. M/V Nordic Barents, which is leased from Nordic Bulk Carriers, yesterday left Rotterdam in Holland for Kirkenes in Norway, where it will be loaded with 41,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate. The ship will then set off for China through the North East passage, a journey which is expected to take 25 days.
