Blast, fire hit Philippine oil tanker undergoing repair

An explosion rocked an oil tanker undergoing repairs near the Philippine capital of Manila, triggering a fire that injured two crewmen before it was contained, officials said Thursday.
Coast Guard chief Vice Admiral Arthur Gosingan said welding work was being done on one of M/T Daniella Natividad’s tanks when the work apparently triggered an explosion and fire that left the two crewmen seriously burned.
