Better weather helps Agulhas salvors

Salvors are taking advantage of calmer weather to carry on offloading fuel and cargo from the Safmarine Agulhas which ran aground off East London 12 days ago, said the National Port Authority (NPA) on Saturday. Work was interrupted on Friday by strong winds and heavy swells. “The weather has changed. Yesterday we really had some howling winds which really played havoc with the discharge of the containers and the bunker fuel,” said NPA East London spokesperson Terry Taylor.
