Warship sails back for home visit

A Royal Navy warship built in the north-east of England is sailing back home for a visit.
HMS Northumberland will be berthed at Spillers Wharf, on Newcastle’s Quayside, over the weekend.

The Type 23 Frigate was built at the Swan Hunter yard, in Wallsend, and launched in 1992.

There will be a series of events to forge the ship’s links with Northumberland after she was granted freedom of the county in 2004.
