Oil to be pumped out of cargo ship

Around 200 tonnes of oil have leaked from a cargo ship beached off the coast of Devon. Coastguards are confident the main fuel tanks have not split.

It is believed the leaking oil is coming from the ship’s engine room. The MSC Napoli contains 3,500 tonnes of heavy fuel oil but the Maritime and Coastguard Agency has said it is confident the oil is still contained in the ship’s tanks.
