New products abound at show

From a $1.5 million catamaran that can reach speeds up to 200 mph to a Porsche-designed luxury speedster, there is a lot to marvel at the boat show.

The trend among center-console open fishermen is to grow larger and faster, but the new 39-foot SeaVee with quadruple 275-horsepower Mercury Verado engines takes hard-core to the next level.

The newest and largest SeaVee model incorporates several features not previously seen: a fish door built into the port aft quarter instead of the transom; two stowaway jump seats aft and two larger ones (with drink holders) forward; and a push-button pneumatic activation system to operate the pull-out drink cooler and center-console door. All of this — and company representative Ralph Torres said it’ll do 68 mph.
