Hurricane Energy searching for new CFO

Hurricane Energy, a UK-based oil and gas company, has announced that its current chief financial officer will retire as planned.

Nicholas Mardon-Taylor, Hurricane CFO who also served as a director, will retire on January 31, 2016.

The company said it was already searching for a new CFO and that it would make an announcement once a candidate is chosen.

Robert Trice, chief executive of Hurricane Energy, commented: “Nicholas has been with Hurricane from the start and throughout a period in which we have achieved very significant milestones which have set us on a path towards Lancaster field development. We are enormously grateful for his contributions and wish him very well in his retirement.”

In 2015, the company managed to get an oilfield status for its Lancaster discovery off Shetland, UK. The discovery was then divided into four licenses and Hurricane Energy is now looking for farm-down options.
