Image of the Day: Rowan Viking in All Its Glory

The image shows the drilling rig Rowan Viking standing tall in all its glory.

The rig is fresh from a recently completed electrical installation, which was conducted by Alewijnse Marine Systems, aimed at its remodelling.

The Keppel Fels ’N’ Class Drilling Rig,Rowan Viking, is one of the largest rigs of this type and will be used for oil exploitation in the North Sea.

The rig is contracted to explore the Norwegian Lundin Oil Field and is having to be converted accordingly. Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen has received a contract to remodel the Rowan Viking rig.
