Indonesian Authorities Detain Malaysian Trawler Boat

 

A Malaysian trawler boat was detained by Indonesian authorities for operating in Indonesian waters in Karang Unarang area near Pulau Sebatik, which is still under dispute between Malaysia and Indonesia, reports Bernama.

A team of Nunukan Maritime and Fisheries Department, Indonesian navy, marine and air force, Indonesian police as well as the district enforcement officers made the arrest yesterday morning.

The fishermen’s catch of 100kg from the boat was also seized.

The boat was towed from Karang Unarang waters near the Ambalat block to the marine and air force police post of South Nunukan district, where the boat and its crew members were sent to the local police for further investigation.
