Ineos’ Forties Pipeline Fully Operational

Ineos has confirmed that the Forties pipeline system is back to normal after a repair that was conducted over past couple of weeks.

The company shut down the pipeline on December 11, 2017, due to a hairline crack in the onshore section of the pipeline.

All restrictions on the flow of oil and gas from platforms feeding into the pipeline system have been lifted and virtually all platforms are now online, the company informed.

The Ineos facility at Kinneil has restarted and all products are in specification.

Force Majeure, declared on December 13, has been lifted and the loading of crude oil from Hound Point was re-started.

Forties pipeline is an integrated oil and gas terminal, transportation and processing system serving the Central North Sea and transporting around 500,000 barrels a day.
