Iran increasing gas exports

After adding to the production capacity over the year Iran has set plans to increase its gas exports up to 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) by the end of Iranian calendar year, March 2015 .

“Iran exported around 9 bcm of gas during the last year. In the current year, with the gas production capacity increase by 80 to 100 MMcm, the country’s gas exports will rise to 10 bcm,” director for planning at the National Iranian Gas Company Hassan Montazer Torbati said.

He added that gas supply to industrial units will be increased by 3 billion cubic meters reaching 33 bcm of gas this year.

During the first three months of the current Iranian year, gas supply to power plants reached 130, 150 and 170 MMcm respectively.

Torbati also said gas supply to power plants is scheduled to reach 42 bcm by the year end.
