James Fisher expands with Insight acquisition

James Fisher Marine Services, a marine projects division of  UK-based services provider James Fisher, has acquired the operation and assets of the hydrographic survey company, Insight Marine Projects.

James Fisher said on Thursday that the acquisition of Cornwall-based Insight would add hydrographic and geophysical survey and construction support to the list of its current services to the oil and gas, renewables, and civil engineering markets.

The firm added that Insight, which offers surveys of coastal, inshore, and offshore areas, further expands its in-house capability.

Richard Argall, managing director of marine projects at James Fisher, said: “Our marine service capabilities have been further strengthened through the purchase of Insight. Complementing our existing offering, we can now provide an even more comprehensive service to our customers globally.

“Insight is known for its first class subsea survey expertise, and we are very happy they are joining the James Fisher team.”

Alex Richards, managing director of Insight, added: “Being part of James Fisher means that Insight is now able to undertake larger and more complex surveying projects for customers around the world.”

James Fisher will rebrand Insight Marine Projects during 2017 to form the subsea surveying division of marine projects at James Fisher Marine Services.
