‘Jumbo Javelin’ arrives at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam

In the early morning of Friday March 28, 2014 the Jumbo J-Class heavy load carrier “Jumbo Javelin” arrived in Dock 7 of Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam for repairs and 2nd special survey.

The “Jumbo Javelin” is the first of four Heavy Load Carriers, all built by the Romanian Damen Shipyards at Galatz. The vessels are fitted with two Huisman Mast Cranes each of 900 tons, in combi capable to lift 1800 tons.

The “Jumbo Javelin” is fitted with a Class 2 Dynamic Positioning system, making the vessel also suitable for offshore transportation and installation work.

The J-Class vessels have one large hold of 101,95 x 17,00 m at Tween Deck level and a deadweight between 12.625 and 13.260 ton
