Lamprell tasked with replacing 285 kilometers of subsea pipeline in India

Offshore fabrication contractor Lamprell has been tasked by India’s state-owned energy company Oil and Natural Gas Limited (ONGC) to deliver a pipeline replacement project in Indian waters.

Lamprell’s scope includes the replacement and laying of approximately 285 kilometers of subsea pipelines of various sizes across ONGC’s Western offshore fields, Mumbai High, Neelam and Heera, Bassein and Satellite fields, together with associated topside modification works across multiple offshore platforms.

Although no details have been revealed, the company did state that the contract for the Pipeline Replacement Project PRP-IX was a large one.

Of note, Lamprell opened a business support office in Chennai in 2025.
