The contract was awarded to Lamprell by the Saudi giant as part of their long-term agreement programme (LTA).

This is the company’s second award under the LTA framework following the EPCI deal for two offshore production deck modules and associated pipeline and subsea cables in Saudi Aramco’s Marjan field awarded in late February.

The Marjan field is located in the Arabian Gulf, off Saudi Arabia’s East Coast, and is one of the largest oil and gas fields in the region.

Lamprell said on Wednesday that the EPCI work under the deal with Saudi Aramco was scheduled for completion in 2022. The scope of the work includes the supply and installation of three drilling jackets and two new single-well observation jackets and decks.

Christopher McDonald, CEO of Lamprell, said: “We are very honoured to have been awarded a second contract by Saudi Aramco and look forward to delivering the project safely and on time.

This is an excellent result for the business and has resulted from many months of dedication and rigour from our bid and proposals team.

This further serves to reinforce the evolution of our strategy across the oil and gas, renewables, and digital sectors. With Saudi Arabia very much part of our oil and gas focus, this award represents a significant success for us“.

This contract is considered to be a ‘large contract’ for Lamprell. The company defines such a contract as being between $51 million and $150 million.

Worth noting, the company recently decided to reorganise into three new business units – Renewables, Digital, and Oil & Gas – as part of its efforts to focus on energy transition.
