Late June LNG cargo heading for Lithuania

The FSRU Independence, serving as Lithuania’s import terminal is scheduled to receive a cargo next week.

According to the information by the Port of Klaipeda, the 155,000 cubic meters Arctic Aurora is planned to arrive at Höegh LNG’s FSRU on June 28.

The Arctic Aurora, owned by Dynagas, is currently operating under a time charter with Norway’s Statoil with an initial term of five years that expires in July 2018.

The cargo is being delivered from Statoil’s Hammerfest LNG facility on Melkoya island. Lithuania imports 3.7 billion cubic meters per year under a deal with Statoil that has been revised in January.

Under the new deal, the price has been cut by 15 to 20 percent and extended from five to 10 years.
