Latsco Shipping Orders LNG Carrier Duo from Hyundai

Greece-based Latsco Shipping has reportedly placed an order for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in South Korea.

According to data provided by Asiasis, the 174,000 cbm vessels, ordered through Latsco Shipping’s Consolidated Marine Management, would be constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The company is to pay USD 370 million for the duo, scheduled to be delivered in 2021.

Hyundai Heavy Industries said that the latest shipbuilding order has brought its orderbook so far this year to 139 ships valued at USD 11.8 billion.

With this, HHI achieved 90 percent of its annual target, set at USD 13.2 billion, Yonhap News Agency said citing the company.
