Livestream from OEEC Community Square – Day 1

The eleventh edition of the annual Offshore Energy Exhibition and Conference (OEEC), being held in Amsterdam this week, will once again host talk-shows at Community Square at the exhibition floor of the Amsterdam RAI.

As in previous editions, Offshore Energy Today will be live streaming these captivating discussions by the industry leaders focused on all aspects of the offshore energy world. The talk shows, to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 23-24) will be hosted by BNR Nieuwsradio presenter Maarten Bouwhuis.

On Tuesday, October 23, the central theme of the day one at the Community Square will be: “Accelerating energy transition by new functions on the North Sea.”

Platform electrification

 

12:00 – 12:30

Maarten Bouwhuis will interview experts on platform electrification and scenarios and plans to create an offshore power grid that can benefit both offshore wind and offshore electrification of oil and gas platforms.


CCS as a lifeline for reaching Paris

 

13:45 – 14:15

Maarten Bouwhuis will interview experts on Carbon Capture and Storage, an important mitigation measure in future climate plans for many North Sea countries.


Hydrogen – the holy grail for transmission

 

15:15 – 15:45

This talk-show will focus on the advantages of hydrogen as a means of transport and storage of electricity produced from offshore wind farms. There will also be a discussion of synergies between the existing oil & gas infrastructure and that of offshore wind.


System integration across borders

 

16:00 – 16:30

The talk-show will cover the offshore challenge of deploying vast amounts of wind energy, decommissioning offshore infrastructure for oil and gas, finding synergy between the societal, economic and ecological functions that have their spatial claim on the North Sea.
