L&N Scotland Prepare for Growth with Appointment of Operations Director

Specialist oil and gas supply and service company L&N (Scotland) have appointed Craig Finnie to Operations Director while Mike McArtney takes on a new role as Business Development Director.

Mr Finnie has been with L&N for nine years, most recently as operations manager, and will have responsibility for all operational matters.

Mr McArtney will focus on business development in the North Sea sector and international markets on the back of a significant increase in contract wins in the US, West Africa, Egypt and Brazil.

Based in Dyce, Aberdeen, L&N (Scotland) provide weld cladding, fabrication services and assemble and manufacture subsea control systems.

The company is also well established in the valve sector, supplying, repairing and modifying valves and actuators used throughout the global oil and gas industry.

L&N (Scotland) managing director, Alastair Chalmers, said the appointments were part of an overall strategy to capitalise on a successful 2010 trading and to substantially grow the business.

Mr Chalmers said: “Craig’s commitment and enthusiasm over the last nine years has been unquestionable and I have no hesitation in welcoming him to our Board. He knows our business inside out and will be a great asset to the senior management team as we go forward.

“The last year has been very busy and our decision to commit resources to the subsea sector has proved critical in gaining access to a number of foreign markets. We want to maintain that growth and Mike’s wide ranging industry experience can be best harnessed in exploring business development opportunities.”

Mr Finnie said of his appointment: “I am delighted to step up to operations director and look forward to the new challenges the role shall present. I have the confidence that I can make a meaningful and profitable contribution to the overall success of the company.”
