AIDA Cruise’s cruise ship AIDAsol received power from the LNG hybrid barge at the port of Hamburg during its last stay before heading for the Canaries.

During the season, the cruise ship docked a total of 16 times at the cruise terminal at Großer Grasbrook, Carnival Corporation, AIDA Cruises parent company, said in its statement.

Dirk Lehmann, managing director of Becker Marine said, “with AIDAsol docking a total of 16 times, the barge supplied more than 380 MW of electricity.”

On its ways to the Canaries AIDAsol is set to dock in Dover, Le Havre, Ferrol, Lisbon, Funchal and Arrecife before arriving at Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.

From there AIDAsol will be going on 7-day cruises every Sunday starting from October 30, 2016.
