Originally, it was Island Dragon who was awarded the contract on the Edvard Grieg field in the North Sea but due to a change in need for Lundin, Island Dragon was replaced with Island Commander.

Island Commander entered into the contract on February 8, 2016 and has been on hire since.

Island Offshore’s chartering manager, Hallgeir Reitan, said: “We are very pleased for the confidence Lundin is showing us. Lundin is an important customer to us and we appreciate the good relationship we have established throughout the years.”

Island Commander is a platform supply vessel (PSV) built by STX Brevik in 2009.
