Lundin’s exploration manager retires

Lundin Petroleum has announced that Hans Christen Rønnevik, Exploration Manager at Lundin Norway AS, is retiring but will remain integral to the Norwegian exploration activity.

The company explained that Hans Christen Rønnevik, Exploration Manager at Lundin Norway, has reached the formal retirement age of 70 in Norway and has retired from his executive duties. He will however, through a consultancy arrangement, remain integral to Lundin Petroleum’s Norwegian exploration business and will be fully involved in all exploration related ‎activities in Norway.

Alex Schneiter, COO of Lundin Petroleum, and the company’s new CEO effective October 1, 2015, comments: “Hans has had a huge part to play in our Norwegian organic growth including the discoveries of Edvard Grieg, Johan Sverdrup and more recently Alta and Gohta in the Barents Sea South.

“I am pleased that Hans wants to remain involved in our business and will continue to be an integral part of our Norwegian exploration activity.”

Schneiter added: “I welcome Halvor Jahre as new Exploration Manager. He will continue the organic growth strategy which has been so successful for Lundin Petroleum. Halvor has 25 years of broad industry experience from the NSC and has worked closely with Hans Christen Rønnevik also prior to joining Lundin Norway.”
