LUX Assure Names New CEO (UK)2

LUX Assure has appointed Charles Cruickshank as its new CEO. The Edinburgh-based oil and gas chemical monitoring firm has also invested in new premises in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don area, a strategic move to target growing opportunities in the Aberdeen market.

Cruickshank boasts 27 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, having previously held the position of business development director at one of the world’s leading oilfield service companies, Petrofac Engineering Consultancy Services, where he drove all internationally focused business development.

Prior to this he was commercial director for subsea specialist company Flexlife where he handled all commercial activities and the internationalisation of the business.

In his new role, Cruickshank will divide his time between LUX Assure’s new Aberdeen base and its Edinburgh headquarters, providing support and experience to the existing management team.

Managing director and CSO of LUX Assure, Emma Perfect, said: “Charles brings an impressive wealth of industry experience to the position. He is a great addition and we are confident his skill and fantastic knowledge of the industry will help take the company to the next level.

“As a company, we aim to further increase our team and profile, including in Aberdeen, over the next 12 months which highlighted the need for a North East office. Recruitment campaigns for a business development manager, financial controller, scientist and offshore chemist are already in motion, with plans to have at least three regional staff recruited by the end of the year.

“Charles’ experience will aid in steering the company’s future developments and, along with the dedicated and talented team, help us to continue to deliver and improve upon the high level service and technology we provide our customers with.”

Cruickshank said: “LUX Assure is a truly innovative and forward thinking company, with the technology and services it offers being game-changers in the market. This is a very busy and exciting time for LUX and I’m delighted to be on board to help drive the company forward and be part of its ambitious plans for the future.”

Earlier this year the company changed its name from LUX Innovate to LUX Assure. The name change came alongside the recent £3.25million funding to transform the company from an R&D-focused business, into a service provider for the oil and gas industry. The firm has offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, Scotland.

LUX Assure’s CoMic™ and OMMICA™ products will form the core of the company post investment. CoMic is used to deliver improved corrosion management enabling optimisation of chemicals used for corrosion protection, while OMMICA offers a simple method to monitor hydrate inhibitors. CoMic and OMMICA are making commercial sales, including repeat orders, and both are already being sold outside the UK. LUX’s aim is now to target global sales. The latest funding will also allow the company to develop other opportunities in their portfolio targeting the oil and gas sector.
