MacGregor put in charge of cargo handling & mooring equipment on Teekay’s 115 vessels

MacGregor, a part of Cargotec, has signed a five-year frame agreement with Teekay Shipping for spare parts, maintenance, training, and project support.

MacGregor said on Monday that the deal, covering 115 Teekay’s vessels, was signed during the second quarter of 2017.

According to the conditions of the agreement, MacGregor would provide hatch covers, hose-handling cranes, general-purpose cranes, offshore mooring and loading systems, deck machinery winches, steering gear, and compressors.

John Carnall, Senior VP of MacGregor Global Lifecycle Support, said: “We are happy that Teekay, one of our key customers, trusted MacGregor expertise to keep their fleet’s cargo handling and mooring equipment working.”

Steve Goodchild, UK branch manager, said: “The business relationship with Teekay goes back to Pusnes and Hatlapa brands with separate types of agreements. The timing was right to present a global MacGregor portfolio approach to fit with the Teekay way of working with its prime contractors.”

Within its fleet, the marine energy transportation, storage, and production company Teekay has $12 billion worth of assets in offshore FPSOs, FSOs, Gas LNG/LPG as well as conventional crude product tankers.
