Macquarie Says Global LNG Market Will Remain Tight

The global LNG market will remain tight until at least 2014, Reuters reported citing Macquarie’s analyst Jason Gammel.

The removal of nuclear generation from the Japanese electricity grid has completely changed their demand for natural gas, and it’s made the LNG market extremely tight until at least 2014,” said Gammel.

Gammel also said that a tight LNG market would mean Europe would be susceptible to much higher gas prices as the region increasingly depends on liquefied natural gas imports.
