Maersk Line Forges Ties with MacGregor

Danish container shipping company Maersk Line, part of the Maersk Group, has teamed up with MacGregor, part of Cargotec, on the development of the next generation of container securing systems.

MacGregor, a provider of cargo and load handling solutions, and Maersk have had a cooperation within securing systems since the container ship sizes started to grow from feeder sizes to the present ultra-large container ships.

“We are very happy to be able to extend our cooperation in the development of our container securing systems,” says Leif Byström, Senior Vice President, Cargo Handling Division, MacGregor.

“I am convinced that this will benefit both parties, as the ship sizes continue to grow with increasing efficiency requirements.”

” We are committed to offering our customers competitive ocean transportation, and extending our cooperation with MacGregor will contribute to our continued success in this,” says Ole Graa Jakobsen, Vice President, Head of Technical Operations, Maersk Line.

The parties did not disclose further details on their future cooperation and potential solutions being targeted.
