Maersk Training to Hold Open Evening in Newcastle

Maersk Training in Newcastle has invited North East residents aged 15 or over to attend an Open Evening event on 18 January and learn more about the company’s range of accredited Career Transition Training Programmes.

The Open Evening will be held at Maersk Training Newcastle Ltd, 2 Mercury Court, Orion Business Park, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm local time.

Anyone wishing to attend and learn more about career opportunities in the growing offshore wind energy sectors is advised to register their interest beforehand and bring a printed copy of their CV with them on the day.

“There is currently a real shortage of operations and maintenance technicians, so it is a perfect opportunity for individuals to transition into the offshore wind industry,” Lee Atkinson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Maersk Training in Newcastle, said.

”The team at Maersk Training has strong links with employers and is able to provide industry-leading information, advice and guidance. We aim to work with individuals, fill any essential skills gaps they might have, use their transferable skills and, on completion of the course, find them employment in the sector.”

Maersk Training’s courses are designed to support individuals seeking to gain entry into the thriving offshore wind energy market. The programmes have been designed for a whole range of people, at all stages in their career, whether you have just left school or college, are currently unemployed, have just left the Armed Forces or were affected by the SSI closure or transitioning from the Oil & Gas sector.

The programmes would be of particular benefit to anyone with existing engineering, mechanical or technical skills or who enjoys being outdoors, Maersk Training said.

Funding is available for a wide range of programmes, subject to meeting the entry requirements. With 80% of delegates moving into employment after completing the courses, spaces can quickly become limited, according to Maersk Training.
