Magseis said on Monday that the project was conducted using its MASS nodes and the cable vessel Artemis Athene.

Per-Christian Grytnes, CEO of Magseis, said: “We are delighted to continue our operations in the region where we over time have shown strong operational performance and delivered consistently excellent data quality using our proprietary MASS node technology.”

According to the company, the project will start in the third quarter of 2018 and have a duration of approximately seven months.

Although the company did not specify the customer, it is worth noting that Magseis and the Artemis Athene are currently working for Saudi Aramco under a contract initially awarded in February 2016. The company began work on the project in August of the same year, together with its partner BGP Arabia.

The contract was for work on Saudi Aramco’s S78 project for large-scale ocean bottom seismic acquisition in the Red Sea.

Namely, the deal was extended several times since then with the last extension coming in December 2017. The extension started in January and had an expected duration of seven months.
