Malaysia’s Nam Cheong Launches Diesel Electric MPSV

Malaysia’s Nam Cheong Dockyard Sdn Bhd launched the NC800, the country’s first diesel electric multi-purpose platform support vessel (MPSV), Bernama reports.

The Wartsila designed vessel, which will bear the name Armada Tuah 300, is commissioned by Bumi Armada and it will support the deep-water Gumusut field operations.

Armada Tuah 300 features a remote-operated vehicle mezzanine deck, a crane with a 20 tonne capacity, a large 800 square meter deck area and can accommodate 42 crew members.

It is built to perform various operations including safety and standby support, transport of chemical fluids, oil spill control and general supplies.
