Mexico Buys Two LNG Spot Cargoes from RWE

Mexico’s Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) said it has awarded two shipments of liquefied natural gas on May 22 to RWE, which will provide the LNG from the Middle East and Norway for delivery to the Manzanillo import terminal over the next 19 months, CFE revealed in a statement.

Mexico’s state utility recently said it will purchase 18 spot LNG cargoes from Trafigura, an international commodities trading and logistics player.

The cargoes will be delivered over the next 18 months to the 500,000 Mc/d Manzanillo import terminal, built and owned by a consortium of Samsung and Mitsui, each with a stake of 37.5%, and Kogas with 25%.
