Mexico: Prosafe Bags Bareboat Contract for Safe Lancia Accommodation Rig Worth USD 57 million


Interpetroleum Services has awarded Prosafe a bareboat contract for Safe Lancia operating for Pemex offshore Mexico. The contract commences on 19 August and ends on 31 December 2012. Total value of the contract linked to the award is about USD 57 million.

Prosafe is the world’s leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation/service rigs. Operating profit reached USD 218.6 million in 2009. The company operates globally, employs approx. 400 people and is headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus. Prosafe is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange with ticker code PRS.

The Safe Lancia was built in 1982 at the GVA/Kockums yard in Sweden to a GVA 2000 design.

She has a ten (10) point wire-mooring system capable of station keeping in the harshest of environments. In 2003, she was upgraded to a DP2 station keeping system.

With a maximum of 550 beds and 46 workstations, the Safe Lancia offers high quality and generous accommodation. Cranage and deck area provide good levels of construction and commissioning support.
