Minister Coleman supports Grassy Point LNG export approval

Minister of Natural Gas Development Rich Coleman has issued a statement following NEB’s Grassy Point LNG export approval.

“Grassy Point LNG, led by Woodside Energy, now has export approval from Canada’s National Energy Board, which is the tenth LNG export facility to receive an export licence in British Columbia,” Coleman said in his statement.

Coleman adds that export approvals are a significant step for an LNG proposal to reach, providing the proponent with the assurance they need to speak with customers in Asia who are interested in British Columbia’s natural gas.

The NEB approved the application of Australia’s Woodside Energy for a 25-year natural gas export licence with a maximum term quantity of 807 billion cubic metres.
