Nordic American Offshore Ltd. (NAO) has taken delivery of all six PSV vessels from the Ulstein Group of Norway.

NAO Takes Delivery of the 6th PSV

The company recently agreed to acquire six platform supply vessels from Blue Ship Invest (BSI). The vessels are of the PX121 type, and were designed and constructed by ULSTEIN in 2012-13. NAO has its source from the international tanker company Nordic American Tankers ( NAT ).

PSV vessels play an integral role in the logistical chain in offshore exploration and production of oil and gas. NAO has its six PSV vessels in the demanding North Sea market, where there are numerous offshore oil platforms that need to be served. The NAO vessels represent the latest in design and technology.

Three vessels were delivered from the seller to NAO in December 2013. The last three were delivered in January 2014, a few days later than planned because of bad weather which delayed necessary underwater inspections.

The NAO ships, built by ULSTEIN, are the first vessels of the PX121 design. Currently, several shipping companies have seen the potential of these ship types and a total of ten other vessels of the PX121 design have been contracted for construction at various shipyards internationally.
