Newbuild PSV ‘Stril Luna’ delivered to Simon Møkster

Norway’s Simon Møkster Shipping has reported that the newbuild PSV ‘Stril Luna’ was delivered on the 29th of August from Astilleros Gondán S.A in Spain.

This is the second Platform Supply Vessel that Gondan shipyard has built for Simon Møkster. The vessel is to be delivered to Statoil on Thursday the 4th of September. It has a three-year contract with Statoil and it will start working out of Stavanger.

‘Stril Luna’ is an advanced Platform Supply Vessel, model UT776WP designed by Rolls Royce Marine and her main dimensions are 92 metres length, 20 metres beam and a deck surface of more than 1000 square metres. Stril Luna is the first vessel in the world with the new Rolls Royce unified bridge system.

Another important characteristic is the bow design known as “Wave-piercing” that will enable the vessel to pierce through waves in extreme weather conditions, while maintaining a constant speed, reducing fuel consumption and enhancing safety.

Stril Luna’s hull was launched in October 2013 at the Astilleros Gondán’s facilities in Spain.

As the vessel has NOFO 2009 and the notation Winterization Basic Simon Møkster Shipping hopes the vessel will be utilized up north in the Barents Sea, the statement from Simon Møkster read.
