NewSat to Partake in 2012 Offshore Technology Conference (USA)

NewSat’s top executives will participate in the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas. The annual event aims to promote the development of offshore resources by fostering exchange of knowledge in the fields of oil exploration, drilling , environmental protection and production. The 2012 OTC will bring together executives and traders interested in the latest technological innovations and market trends.

NewSat executives Diego Paldao and Tom Wright will discuss the company’s current ground services and future satellite communications capacity. Tom Wright is the vice-president of NewSat, while Diego Paldao is the Senior Director for American markets and the Secretary of the Society of Satellite Professionals International.

Oil and gas companies traditionally use satellites to process real-time data and improve output. Satellite images, satellite VoIP and wireless telemetry allow oil, gas and drilling companies to operate in areas beyond the reach of cables. The 2012 OTC will provide in-depth analysis of the potential role of NewSat’s Jabiru satellites in supplying critical bandwidth for real-time data analysis, telemetry, data transfer and voice communications in offshore settings. The Ka-band satellite fleet will offer hosted payload and flexible satellite communications services in multi-beam technology, serving almost all growth areas in Australia and the world.

All events in conjunction with the conference will take place at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas, USA, with the exception of the Annual OTC Dinner, which will be at the George R. Brown Convention Center, and the Astros Baseball game.

Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is one of the industry’s most anticipated annual event.
