NIGC: Gas Draw from Serajeh Facility to Hit 3 Million Cubic Meters

Three million cubic meters of gas could be drawn from Serajeh underground gas storage facility on a daily basis as on next Iranian month, beginning 21 November.

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Javad Owji, made the remarks during parliament’s energy commission members’ visit to the facility, near Qom city, adding the facility is capable to store 3.3 billion cubic meters of gas.

According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, he said that up to now 700 million cubic meters of gas have been stored in Serajeh gas storage facility.

Serajeh underground gas storage facility is located 40 kilometers east of Qom city.

It’s worth mentioning that, Serajeh facility has the capacity to store 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas in the first phase that will rise to 3.3 billion cubic meters of gas upon the completion of its second phase.

He went on to say that there is the possibility to draw 9.8 million cubic meters of gas per day from the facility during the cold days.
