Noble Nets Drilling Contracts in Arabian Gulf

Noble Corporation, a Swiss-headquartered drilling contractor which recently announced it was contemplating a move to the UK, today announced it has secured two drilling contracts in the Arabian Gulf.

The contracts are for the Noble Dhabi II and Noble Jimmy Pucket jack-up drilling rigs.

The Dhabi II contract has been extended for two more years by the ADOC oil company in Abu Dhabi. The rig will stay with ADOC until mid-July 2015 on a day rate of  $89.000.

As for the Noble Jimmy Puckett, the rig will continue to work for RasGas in Qatar, only for a higher day rate. The contract is scheduled to kick off in early April next year and will last until August 2014. Ras Gas will pay $140,000 per day of the contract.

Both the contracts bring increased day rates for the rigs when compared to the previous/current arrangements.  The Noble Dhabi II current day rate is $55.000, while the Noble Jimmy Pucket operates at a day rate of $89.000.
