Noreco Luna Well a Duster (Denmark)

Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco) reports it is in the process of completing the drilling of exploration well Luna-1X in licence 1/11 in Denmark. The well did not encounter hydrocarbons.

Luna is located in a small half graben with the pinch out edge to the south east of the structure. The well was spudded a month ago, using the Maersk Resolve jack-up drilling rig.

Maersk Resolve is the third in a series of four High Efficiency 350 ft jack-up rigs in Maersk Drilling’s fleet. Since its delivery in 2009 the rig has been consistently employed in the Danish North Sea.

The partners in license 1/11 are Noreco (operator, 47 percent), Elko Energy (33 percent) and the Danish North Sea Fund (20 percent).
