Norway: Aalesund Data AS Awarded Contract with Farstad ASA

Farstad Shipping ASA has as of June 2012, granted a contract to Aalesund Data AS for the delivery of Itrust Bandwidth Optimizer (IBO) solution onboard its fleet of over 50 ships. Aalesund Data AS has worked closely with Farstad ASA in the process of testing and customization of the IBO solution for Farstad Shipping ASA.

The Itrust Bandwidth Optimizer is a product first developed by Aalesund Data AS in 2008 and has since been released in different versions. The IBO solution optimizes the data communication to the vessels through satellite or mobile connections. The units destined for delivery to Farstad Shipping ASA is IBOâv4, and these are delivered as a virtual appliance. As such, deployment and configuration is done in matter of minutes.

The delivery of the units is scheduled to take place over the forthcoming year, starting immediately and ending by June 2013.
