Norway: Ocean Installer Completes Survey Work at Balder Field

Ocean Installer has successfully completed survey and intervention work at the Balder field, as contracted by ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Norway AS.

The work was performed in May 2012, according to schedule and in line with Ocean Installer’s quality and HSE standards and requirements.

The conducted work encompassed inspection and maintenance of the subsea control system at the Balder field, Ocean Installer making use of the long term chartered vessel “Normand Clipper”. This job was the first project to be executed from “Normand Clipper” under the Ocean Installer charter, as well as Ocean Installer’s first offshore job in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

“We are very pleased that our first offshore job in the Norwegian market has been duly completed to the client’s satisfaction. It serves to confirm that our growing organisation operates and delivers according to the highest HSE and professional standard,” says Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer.

The Balder field is located in blocks 25/10 and 25/11 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea approx. 190 km west of Stavanger, Norway at a water depth of 125 m.

Ocean Installer is a Norwegian subsea entrepreneur headquartered in Stavanger, Norway. Ocean Installer holds strong EPCI expertise within the SURF (Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers, Flowlines) segment and is rapidly expanding its operations and organisation within and beyond the North Sea basin.

Ocean Installer provides its clients with recognised first-rate assets and has secured long-term charters on two construction support vessels (CSVs): Normand Clipper and Normand Mermaid. A third CSV, in which Ocean Installer has ownership, is under construction and is to be delivered in Q2 2014. Ocean Installer will continuously invest and develop its assets to fulfill its ambition to be a key service provider within the SURF segment.
