Norway: Regalia Stays at Yme

Prosafe, the world’s leading owner and operator of accommodation/service rigs, announces that Talisman Energy Norge AS has extended the contract for the semi-submersible multi-service vessel Regalia at the Yme field until end August 2012. 

The extension of 198 days has a gross value of USD 57.4 million, bringing the total contract value up to USD 91.4 million.

In March 2011, Prosafe received a Letter of Interim Agreement (“LOIA”) by Talisman Energy (UK) Limited for the provision of the MSV Regalia at the Auk South Redevelopment Project in the British sector of the North Sea.

Following today’s announcement, the contract with Talisman Energy (UK) Limited for the provision of Regalia in the UK North Sea in 2012 has been terminated.

The Facility

MSV Regalia is a semi-submersible multi-service vessel able to work in all geographical areas, including harsh environments such as the UK and Norwegian Continental Shelves. MSV Regalia was built in 1985 at GVA Sweden to an enhanced GVA design, and upgraded in 2003. She offers accommodation for 282 offshore personnel in single man cabins. In 2009 MSV Regalia underwent a major 20 year life extension refurbishment and refit. All accommodation, entertainment, catering, office and exercise facilities were replaced. She had new main engines and complete refurbishment to Thrusters and DP system.
