Getting 'Newbuilding 129' Ready for Painting

On Friday January 25th, platform supply vessel “Newbuilding 129″ was towed from Simek shipyard to Angholmen where the hull will be blasted, painted and outfitted before it is towed back to Simek in May.

The vessel of Skipsteknisk ST-216 Arctic design, based on its very successful ST-216L CD predecessor, is being built for Gulf Rederi AS and is scheduled for delivery in July 2013.

This vessel is designed for harsh environment operations, and will be ice classed and winterized for cold climate conditions. In addition, the vessel will have a green profile and will be fitted for rescue and oil recovery capabilities.
