Norway: Ulstein Provides Complete Control Package for Four PSVs

UPC will deliver a complete power and control package for four platform supply vessels. Two ships (P801) are under construction at ETP yard in Brazil, while two (PX121) are to be built at Ulstein Verft.

Managing director, Gunnar H. Hide, and product manager power, Egil Rødskar, says that UPC has overall responsibility for technical coordination of electric supply, electrical distribution systems and management in the four ships.

“This involves quality assurance and follow-up of the technical requirements. We find the appropriate equipment based on the required speed, economy and operating profiles. We will supply electrical distribution systems and control, as well as electric propulsion solutions that we have worked with over time. The combination of equipment and control systems must be optimalised to provide good and reliable solutions”.

Ulstein Group has sales and service personnel in Brazil that follows up the construction projects in both design and system solutions. UPC has a service network that follows up ships after delivery.
