Norwegian Coastal Administration Releases Tender for Five Pilot Vessels

On September 3th The Norwegian Coastal Administration (Kystverket) released tender for procurement of five pilot vessels. The Norwegian coastal administration will, as a part of a continual renewal process, procure a new pilot vessel with options for up to 5 further vessels.

The vessels shall be built according to the same concept as the previously built vessels, “Pilot boat 118 – Pilot boat 122”. The Norwegian Coastal Administration owns the rights to the vessel type and will provide parts of the base for construction. The last vessels in the series “Pilot boat 121” and “Pilot boat 122” will thus be reference objects for the procurement.

Detailed specifications have been worked out for the vessels. The vessels are built in aluminium and are 16.8m long, 5.2m beam and have a lightweight of approx. 28 tons. The vessels have two engine propulsion and fixed propellers. There will be options for 5 equivalent vessels. The options shall be valid for at least 2 years after the contract has been signed for this vessel. These can be taken up individually or in pairs on the same contract terms as for the first boat with the exception of price and delivery place.

Tender Deadline: 30.9.2011
