Nova Scotia conference to discuss latest in offshore energy

The Cape Breton Partnership, in collaboration with the Maritimes Energy Association and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, is hosting a two day Oceans & Offshore Supplier Readiness Conference in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

The conference will bring together developers, suppliers, utilities, engineers, government, and researchers for two days of presentations, panel discussions and workshops highlighting safety, business readiness, and the strengths of Atlantic Canada’s oceans and offshore energy sector.

Topics of focus include: challenges of working in a harsh ocean environment, preparing your business for major energy projects, shore-side safety, overview of provincial programs and certificates to work offshore, building capacity through joint ventures, and the importance of safety onshore and offshore.

The conference will also provide a forum for knowledgeable energy associations and government leaders to present the latest in energy development and discuss global and local opportunities.

Trade booths will be set up for participants to display their business and organization to delegates.

The conference will take place on February 17-18, 2016, at Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
