Oilgen Moves to New Offices (UK)

Oilgen, a reservoir engineering consultancy, has moved to new offices in Aberdeen’s West End to accommodate the continued growth of the business across the globe.

Oilgen, which specialises in high-tech reservoir modelling to forecast and improve oil and gas production, has moved to new offices in Rubislaw Terrace.

The specialist consultancy, which was launched in 2011, recently opened an additional office in Houston, and is currently working on projects in the North Sea, France, Egypt, West Africa, Iraq, and Holland for top names in the oil and gas industry.

The new Aberdeen base includes two offices spanning 600 sq ft, and a boardroom. In 2013, the company, which designs 3D reservoir models to rejuvenate oil fields and optimise further development, appointed reservoir engineer, Ismail Labed, and geologist, Dr Lisa Casteleyn, to strengthen its specialist services, and currently employs four members of staff.

They also have a number of external consultants specialising in project management, production technology, economics, geology and geophysics. Plans are in place to double the workforce by the end of the year.

In addition to subsurface project management, the company also operates an advisory branch, which includes access to a range of experienced consultants providing further support to its clients in reserves and acquisitions.

Managing director, Laurent Schirrer, said: “We made the decision to move to our new premises to meet demand from clients, and to develop our services into unconventional reservoir engineering.

“As the company continues to grow, so too will our workforce, and we hope to secure the services of a number of professionals specialising in geological studies and reservoir engineering.”
