Optimus Seventh Generation in double appointment

Business & Finance

Aberdeen-based behavioural change consultancy Optimus Seventh Generation has named Mark Hutchinson as business development manager, and promoted James Cooke to the role of client manager.

The company announced that it will be showcasing its services at Decom Offshore 2015 on May 27, at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, where both Hutchinson and Cooke will be providing an insight into the company’s current and future plans.

The company said that Hutchinson joins Optimus Seventh Generation with more than 20 years’ experience working in business development and account management. He previously held a number of positions within the oil and gas, food and financial sectors, where he was responsible for implementing strategic growth plans and developing business with large multinationals.

Hutchinson will be based at the company’s Aberdeen headquarters.

Commenting on his new position, Mark Hutchinson said: “I am thrilled to be joining the company at a time of growth, despite the tough economic challenges facing the industry today. My involvement over the years in developing new business and growing existing accounts positions me well for this new role, and I look forward to being part of the company’s continued success.”

“I am delighted to be attending Decom Offshore 2015 where the demand for innovation and efficiency in decommissioning will be a key focus. This will represent a fantastic opportunity for Optimus to highlight our “Induction Plus” workshop which is an informative and motivated induction for projects experiencing a large influx of new, often subcontracted labour e.g. during decommissioning or construction projects.”

James Cooke, previously associate consultant for Optimus Seventh Generation, has been promoted to the role of client manager, the company said. He has been with the company since 2012 and in his new role will be responsible for supporting client partners in managing projects and key accounts, establishing new business opportunities and offering consultancy services.

Optimus Seventh Generation Chief Executive Derek Smith said: “The company is going from strength-to-strength and we have an ambitious plan for our growth over the next couple of years, with both roles being instrumental in helping us achieve this.”

“Together Mark and James bring a wealth of industry experience to our team that will be hugely beneficial as we continue to grow and make a difference for our clients.”
