Oregon LNG Marketing Applies to Export Canadian Gas

Oregon LNG Marketing, a unit of Oregon LNG, filed an application with the National Energy Board of Canada (NEB) to export up to 473 Bcf/year of natural gas to the United States over a 25-year period.

The quantity of gas requested for export under the licence is necessary to support Oregon LNG’s proposed liquefied natural gas peak-shaving, liquefaction and export facility being designed to include a marine loading terminal, two full-containment 160,000 m3 LNG storage tanks, and facilities to support ship berthing and cargo loading, as well as fuel for transportation, Oregon LNG Marketing said.

The proposed Oregon LNG project will be located on the east side of the Skipanon Channel on the Skipanon Peninsula in the City of Warrenton, in the State of Oregon. The land is owned by Oregon Department of State Lands and leased to the Port of Astoria, which in turn has leased the land to Oregon LNG for a term of 65 years.
